Peter Hernandez lives his personal & professional passion for helping people reach their potential.

Previously the co-founder and co-president of Teles Properties until it was acquired by Douglas Elliman, Hernandez currently brings his passion to his role of growing Elliman in the Western Region.

Hernandez is widely regarded in the industry as the driving force behind the renowned Teles brand and it’s highly collaborative company culture. At Teles Properties, Peter was responsible for spearheading comprehensive brokerage management, marketing, transaction compliance, litigation, and agent coaching.

A Real Estate Industry Veteran with Over 50 years in The Industry

Hernandez began his lifelong real estate career in 1970 working for the family firm Hernandez Realty – the leading agency in Marina Del Rey – while completing his degree in economics at UCLA.

Quickly establishing himself as a leading broker, Peter then expanded into management in 1988. Eventually appointed president and COO for Coldwell Banker of Orange County, Hernandez successfully orchestrated three key acquisitions: Dyson and Dyson Company, the Balboa Real Estate Company and Strada Properties.


Known as an industry thought leader, Hernandez has contributed his expertise to a wide range of digital and print media, including the Los Angeles Times, Orange County Register, Huffington Post, Inman, Toby Salgado Super Agent, The Real Deal, and Pat Hiban, among others. Hernandez backs that expertise with more than 50 years of real estate experience not only as a broker and business owner, but also a passionate investor and developer who is able to see opportunity in any market, whether up or down.

If Hernandez isn’t working tirelessly to position Douglas Elliman to become the number one firm in the Western Region, he can be heard sharing his expert insights and observations on his podcasts and social media platforms.

A longtime resident of Malibu and a board director for the Greater Los Angeles Beverly Hills Board of Realtors, Hernandez always finds quality time for his family and his many passions, which include surfing, reading, playing guitar and CrossFit.
